NSDSC Supported Events 2006 -- 2007
There were 3 weekends organised in association with NSDSC in 2006 - 2007.
One of these was a training weekend in Keilder Forest in September 2006. Offered as a relaxed opportunity to run the dogs in the early season, there were trail lengths available of up to 7 miles.
Warm and humid weather with wide open trails, the teams that attended all seemed to enjoy themselves.
(apart from those who got punctures in their vans!)

Culbin Forest, Invernesshire
6 - 7 January 2007
Organised by David Patterson and Helen Fielden, Culbin is a predominately flat forest nestling on the edge of the Moray Firth. It regularly hosts sprint races organised by clubs like SDAS and SSHC. This was the first time some of the further depths of the forest were explored. The trail marking was of the highest order as evidenced by the fact that everyone returned safely.
A full race report can be found here.
Balloch Wood, Keith, Aberdeenshire
17 - 18 February 2007
Organised once again by David Patterson and Helen Fielden, the return to Balloch was greeted with a mixture of pleasure and pain. The pleasure is in the surroundings and trail, the pain is in the altitude climbed during the run.
The 9 miles of Balloch are 9 hard earned miles.
The weather, as has been par for most of the year, was unseasonably warm - it was mid February but felt decidedly mild.
A full race report can be found here.
